You have choices when paying for your home care services including, government funding, NDIS funding or private pay.

Eligibility for funding

Aged Care Funding

To qualify for assessment, you must meet specific needs and age criteria. This includes:

  • The level of assistance needed with everyday tasks
  • Being 65 or older (50+ for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people)

Note: If you are on a low income, homeless or at risk of
being homeless, and aged 50 years or older, please visit myagedcare.gov.au call the My Aged Care contact centre on 1800 200 422 to discuss your situation.

Disability Care Funding

To qualify for an NDIS assessment, individuals must meet these criteria:

  • Permanent and significant disability: The disability must substantially impact daily activities.
  • Age: Applicants must be under 65 years.
  • Residency: Must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a Protected Special Category Visa.

Note: The disability must affect the individual’s ability to participate in social and economic activities. For detailed information on the qualifications and the assessment process, call 1800 800 110 or visit ndis.gov.au.

There are several state and federal government funded initiatives that aim to promote your wellbeing and independence.

Every program will require certain qualifications, with location possibly affecting access for certain programs. We offer guidance through every step of the application process.

Home Care Package (HCP)

When your care support needs become more complex, Home Care Packages are the best source to turn to. The benefits of Home Care Packages are:

  • Funding is provided by the Commonwealth Government.
  • Funding will be given based on your assessed level and needs.
  • Funding will be assessed based on pension and is income means tested.

You should consider this programme if you’re living independently in your own home, but need a little additional support:

  • Funded by the Commonwealth Government.
  • Best if you’re seeking basic support.
  • You may be required to pay a client contribution.

        Yes! As a Myndis client, you can complete your plan with any provider, registered or unregistered with NDIS. You are free to pick specialists who are best suited for you. You are also able to switch providers whenever you like without any rules.

        Just get in touch, and we’ll deal with the forms on your behalf with My Aged Care and NDIS as your provider. On average, switching doesn’t require more than two days and doesn’t change your services. The straightforward system will be ready for you, and you’ll have more flexibility right away.

        At the end of every month, Myndis sends clear statements showing all your past transactions and your current balance. Our online portal gives you access to your budget whenever you like. We’ll inform you if your budget is likely to go over when spending in a certain area.
